Boost Your Workout or Yoga Routine With Essential Oils.

Essential oils are a great way to boost the benefits of your workout. Before you begin, it's helpful to increase circulation and warm your muscles. During your workout, you can increase focus, energy, mental stamina, and support metabolism. After working out, you can assist the release of waste that was built up in your muscles.

Try these suggestions with your next workout:

Pre Workout- Respiratory blend on the chest, back of the neck, or bottom of the feet to open the airways. Warm your muscles with a mixture of Rosemary, Lavender, & Eucalyptus applied topically. Use a carrier oil if you need to dilute for skin sensitivity.
During Workout- Metabolic blend in your water (use a metal or glass bottle) to boost metabolism and increase energy. Peppermint can be inhaled to increase alertness and help you focus. Peppermint can be rubbed onto tired muscles and feet to increase oxygen and energize muscles.
Post Workout- Soothing Blend and Massage blends feel great rubbed into sore muscles. You can also try Helichrysum and Lavender with Epsom Salts in a bath soak. Calming blend rubbed into tired feet and onto the spine also helps the body repair.

Essential oils make a great companion to a fitness routine – especially when you know you're going to feel it the next day.

Here are five of my favorites:
Massage blend contains basil, grapefruit, cypress, marjoram, peppermint, and lavender. It's great to relax muscles, calm tension, soothe irritated tissue, increase circulation, and soothe limbs.
Soothing blend contains wintergreen, camphor, peppermint, blue tansy, german chamomile, helichrysum and osmanthus. It brings soothing, cooling, therapeutic benefits to sore muscles and joints.
Lemongrass can soothe sore muscles and joints when applied topically with a carrier oil.
Marjoram is great and has many calming properties. It can be applied topically to soothe tired, stressed muscles, and support the respiratory and nervous system.
Wintergreen is a great oil for aches and pains when applied topically.

Essential oils and yoga are a great combination.

Here are a few quick suggestions you can add to your next practice:
Lemon, diffused in the air to rejuvenate, keep the energy high and moods uplifted.
Lavender, placed across the forehead during, to help relax, calm, and ground.
Peppermint, before beginning practice, placed anywhere on the body that is injured, tired, sore, or extremely tight.
Metabolic Blend, diluted in drinking water to keep mood lifted, feel emotional balance, and increase energy.
