I've Officially Broken-Up With My Candle Collection

I’VE OFFICIALLY BROKEN-UP WITH MY CANDLE COLLECTION.

I used to be a complete candle-addict, but my candles have collected a lot of dust since my first essential oil diffuser arrived three years ago. I also no longer fear starting a fire!
Diffusing essential oils not only makes my home smell nice, but they also can provide other health benefits as well. I have lost count of how many diffusers I currently have in my home.

I always use cold-air diffusers. Caution when using candle warmers or anything that might heat the oils too much, since anything that heats the oils can damage some of their beneficial properties. Cold air diffusers are the best way to preserve all the beneficial properties of your precious essential oils.

If you are new to essential oils, there’s no better way to get to know them than through your diffuser. Try a few of my top favorite essential oil recipes for your diffuser below to get you started!

20 ESSENTIAL OIL RECIPES FOR YOUR DIFFUSER
General Guidelines:
• The following blends are meant to be used in a cold-air diffuser. These diffusers usually require a small amount of water to be added, along with the oils. 1-2 drops of oil per hour the diffuser runs.
• Follow the manufacturers directions on your diffuser.
• If you don’t have one of the oils called for in the recipe, you can still try the recipe without it.

Why I don't leave home without it!

Hope you survived Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday! Whew!! Now only 26 more days until Christmas! 😳  And you know what is right after that?.....New Year's Resolutions!

So with that being said- Let's get a jump start on our health, because we all wish we were a bit healthier,  am I right?...... The best part of it, it isn't a diet either!!👏 It is however, a lifestyle change for the better!

Did you know that the number 1 group of people that are addicted to prescription medication is women in their 30's? The number 2 group, is preschool aged children.

I love new technology and the ways in which modern medicine has helped many families, many times. As a Nurse, I was on that side for 18 years, so I do understand. However, I believe that God did not leave this earth without natural medicine either.  I find myself in the middle group - so for me, that is modern medicine when indicated, otherwise natural solutions and essential oils first.

Using essential oils to support your health is called aromatherapy and natural-minded, holistic people have been doing this for thousands of years. When essential oils enter the bloodstream, they have an effect on the whole body. They can enter the bloodstream through various application methods (diffusing, topical use, internal use) and circulate through the bloodstream and interact with tissues and cells throughout the body.

America is a little late to the game and is just now starting to become more aware of the many benefits that essential oils can bring to our bodies…especially these top 5.
If you want to learn even more about essential oils, then join my upcoming webinar!  (To be announced...) (Stay tuned!)

1) Lavender.
Lavender has been cherished for it’s unmistakable aroma and beneficial properties for thousands of years.
Primary Benefits:

2) Frankincense.
Renowned as one of the most prized and precious essential oils, Frankincense has extraordinary health benefits. It’s soothing and beautifying properties are used to rejuvenate skin and reduce the appearance of imperfections.
Primary Benefits:
Promotes healthy cellular function.

Combine 1–2 drops with your facial cleanser for added cleansing properties, or apply to skin after shaving.

4) Peppermint.
The peppermint plant is a hybrid of the watermint plant and spearmint and is, personally, one oil I could not live without.

Promotes healthy respiratory function and clear breathing.
Promotes digestive health.
Repels bugs naturally.
How to Use:
Use a drop of Peppermint in water for a healthy, refreshing mouth wash.
Take 1-2 drops in a veggie capsule to help alleviate occasional stomach upset.
Place 1 drop in the palms of your hands and inhale for a mid-day pick-me-up.

5) Lemon.
The top-selling essential oil, Lemon has multiple benefits and uses. Lemon is a powerful cleansing agent that purifies the air and surfaces, and can be used as a non-toxic cleaner throughout the home.
Primary Benefits:
Cleanses and purifies the air and surfaces.
Naturally cleanses the body and aids in digestion.

3 Key Ingredients For A Healthier Holiday!

It will soon be time for the weather to be changing again :( Usually with changes of the seasons, comes symptoms of seasonal discomfort. If you suffer from seasonal discomfort, you are one of many.

Runny nose, sinus congestion, watery eyes, sneezing, trouble breathing through your nose, sore throat and cough due to drainage are many of the symptoms people experience during the change of the seasons.

I have found a trio of essential oils that, when taken together once or twice per day, combat or completely wipe out these symptoms naturally and safe.

No side effects, dependency or chemicals.

Drop 2 drops of each Lemon, Lavender and Peppermint into an 8oz glass of water (not plastic) and drink down, or you may also put the drops in a vegetable capsule and swallow. Only certified pure essential oils should be used internally!

Besides taking as a trio for seasonal discomfort, these three essential oils also alleviate a variety of other issues and improve your overall quality of life.

Lemon Essential Oil

Gargle with 1-2 drops and water in the am if you wake with an irritated throat.
Add to water and drink throughout the day to help with natural and safe detox.
Add 10-15 drops to an 8oz glass spray bottle filled with water to use for a natural cleaning agent in the kitchen or bathrooms.
Use 1-2 drops to remove oil, gum, grease, spots or glue.
Add to olive oil for a non-toxic furniture polish.
Diffuse to fill your house with an uplifting, energizing aroma and to neutralize odors.

Lavender Essential Oil

Provides natural calming and easing of tension.
Supports healthy and natural sleep, apply under nose or bottom of feet before sleeping.
To calm and soothe occasional skin irritations and sensitive skin. Apply to sun-exposed skin.
Add 1-2 drops to your mascara bottle to condition your lashes and extends the use of the product.
Mix with epsom salts before adding to warm bath for relaxing experience.
Use with peppermint along with your shampoo for an invigorating scalp massage!

Peppermint Essential Oil

Relieves occasional stomach upset or indigestion.
Place behind ears for head discomfort.
Add to water for a refreshing drink.
Diffuse for increased focus and "pick me up". Also for easy breathing and to open up airways.
Use with lemon for a mouth rinse.
Helps relieve symptoms of motion sickness when traveling.
These are just a few of the many ways you can use these three essential oils. The benefits and uses are endless!

Here are a few recipes:

Carpet Stain Remover:

4 cups warm water
1/2 teaspoon Castile soap or dish soap
10 drops Lemon essential oil
Mix 2 cups warm water, soap, and essential oil. Soak a rag in the mixture, wring out, and gently blot the stain. Use a clean rag soaked in the remaining 2 cups warm water to remove the residue. Alternate the soap solution with the fresh water until the stain is gone. Remember to blot, to rub, to remove a carpet stain as rubbing will ruin the carpet fibers.

Hardwood Floor Cleaner:

1 gallon warm water
1/2 cup distilled white vinegar
3 drops of Lemon essential oil
Mix water, vinegar, and oil in a large bucket or container. Mop with a dry mop or by hand with microfiber cloths. Change solution as needed.

Fruit and Veggie Wash:

1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup water
5 drops Lemon essential oil

De-Stress Bath:

1 cup Epsom salts
1/2 cup baking soda
10 drops Lavender
Drop oil into dry mixture of salt and baking soda, stir. Sprinkle in your bathwater and soak until desired:)

Homemade Mints:

1 package gum paste (found with cake decorating supplies)
1/4 cup powdered sugar
6 drops Peppermint essential oil (add more for stronger flavor)
food coloring (optional)
plastic straw
Pull off an egg-sized section of gum paste and knead it until soft. Add essential oil and a tiny bit of food coloring.  Knead again, and roll out with a rolling pin. Using the end of the straw, punch out shapes and roll in powdered sugar. This reduces sticking. Dry for 48 hours. Place mints in a decorative tin with lid. Enjoy!

Oh, I almost forgot! You can add these oils in when you are cooking. Add to frosting, brownies, cake mix or bars. Add to your favorite hot tea or coffee. But remember, one drop goes a long ways!

6 Essential Oils for Your Emotions

I love talking about Emotions and I love talking about Oils. So today I wanted to put those 2 together and help you find emotional balance and harmony! We all could use a little bit more of that!😯  Our emotions can change from day to day, moment by moment, and even minute by minute.
If our emotions are out of whack everything is going to be out of whack right? Our actions will match the way that we feel, which like I have said in the past directly influences our results.
That means if we want to get the results we want in our life, then we need to keep those emotions in check. That isn’t always that easy…but fortunately we do have oils that can help us with that.
So what are the best oils for that?
Well, personally I use a number of oils, but I want to HIGHLY recommend the Emotional Aromatherapy Kit. It has these amazing blends of oils all in one cool kit.
So I just want you to take a look at the below image and it will TELL YOU EVERYTHING you need to know. If you don’t have this kit then you simply have to have it. Seriously!
They can be purchased as a kit or individually. They come in 5ml bottles or 10 ml pre-diluted Roll-Ons. See below.
Oils are amazing and I use them everyday! They are proprietary blends only found at dōTERRA!
Now it's really easy to use this chart, you simply find the emotion that you wish to feel less of and use the oil that is closest to that emotion. If your emotion falls between two oils, then you can use either of them or both. These six unique essential oil blends have been carefully formulated to provide targeted emotional health benefits. Each of them can be applied topically or diffused aromatically.

Here is a highlight of their uses:

dōTERRA Motivate: Promotes feelings of confidence, courage, and belief. Counteracts negative emotions of doubt, pessimism, and cynicism.
*Rub Motivate into your temples to set your focus for the day.
dōTERRA Cheer: Promotes feelings of optimism, cheerfulness, and happiness. Counteracts negative emotions of feeling down, blue, or low.
*A cheerful heart is good medicine. Rub Cheer over your heart.
dōTERRA Passion: Ignites feelings of excitement, passion, and joy. Counteracts negative feelings of boredom and disinterest.
*Apply Passion on your wrists to spark creativity, clarity, and wonder.
dōTERRA Forgive: Promotes feelings of contentment, relief, and patience. Counteracts negative emotions of anger and guilt.
*Rub Forgive over your heart to help forgive yourself and others.
dōTERRA Console: Promotes feelings of comfort and hope. Counteracts negative emotions of grief, sadness, and hopelessness.
*Relieve the weight of the world by massaging Console into your shoulders.
dōTERRA Peace: Promotes feelings of peace, reassurance, and contentment. Counteracts anxious and fearful emotions.
*Give yourself peace of mind by rubbing Peace into your temples.
They also come in 10 ml Roll-Ons for convenient topical application. They are pre-diluted with fractionated coconut oil for easy and gentle application.
It is really amazing how our bodies work. Whenever we have an emotion or mood change, it sends off a chemical response to our brain to decide what to do with it.  With the scientific molecular structure of essential oils, when applied topically or diffused aromatically, we can help our brain alter our mood in a more positive direction. It's the wonderful world of science working together! Let's use what nature has provided for us to help bring our well being back in balance.

So, as women we can have a stigma surrounding us of  "mood swings", P.M.S., "hormonal roller coaster", "drama queen", "high maintenance",  and the list can go on....... but we can fight back!!
Get your emotions under control with the help of essential oils and get your man wondering what has happened to his wife!!  🤔 LOL
