Be "OnGuard" and stop germs in their tracks!

Be "OnGuard" and stop germs in their tracks! There is a lot of ickies and aches going around especially this time of year.  It's never fun to be under the weather! We become less productive, have a lack of energy, and even miss school or work. If you are like me, I tend to even be a bit grouchy when I don't feel well.......but that isn't you, is it? :)

In my recent Face Book Live video, I share just a couple of the ways to use OnGuard protective blend to boost your immunity and support your natural antioxidant defenses.
On Guard essential oil is a proprietary blend that contains Wild Orange, Clove, Cinnamon, Rosemary and Eucalyptus. Certified Pure Therapeutic Grade because you don't deserve any less!

Click Here to watch my Face Book LIVE video on how you can use the OnGuard essential oil, beadlets or soft gels to power up your immunity!

Now that you have learned more about the power behind OnGuard and what it can do for you, I'd like to share a couple recipes:

ON GUARD Throat Spray
Combine the following:
8 drops of doTERRA onGUARD Essential Oil Blend
8 drops of doTERRA Lemon Essential Oil Blend
2 oz. of distilled water
Pour into clear 4 mil glass Misting Spray Vials.

On GUARD Hand Sanitizer
Hand cleansers are a convenient, on-the-go solution for cleaning your hands when soap and water are unavailable. Today, traditional hand sanitizers contain isopropyl or ethyl alcohol. These ingredients can be harmful, especially if accessible to unsupervised children. Most hand sanitizers contain between 60 to 90 percent alcohol, which is enough to cause alcohol poisoning if ingested, extremely drying to the skin and a fire hazard. According to CNN Health, a 2 ounce bottle of hand sanitizer may contain as much alcohol as four shots of vodka.
Combine in a squeeze bottle, that works best.
10 drops of doTERRA onGUARD Essential Oil Blend
pure aloe vera gel
1/4 t Vitamin E
Note: Essential oils can be stored in plastic containers if the essential oils are diluted. Make sure they are high quality if you do use plastic containers.

You don't have to feel icky to use OnGuard. Boost your immunity before the bugs hit!
There are a few other products that contain the powerful benefits of OnGuard.

I've Officially Broken-Up With My Candle Collection

I’VE OFFICIALLY BROKEN-UP WITH MY CANDLE COLLECTION.

I used to be a complete candle-addict, but my candles have collected a lot of dust since my first essential oil diffuser arrived three years ago. I also no longer fear starting a fire!
Diffusing essential oils not only makes my home smell nice, but they also can provide other health benefits as well. I have lost count of how many diffusers I currently have in my home.

I always use cold-air diffusers. Caution when using candle warmers or anything that might heat the oils too much, since anything that heats the oils can damage some of their beneficial properties. Cold air diffusers are the best way to preserve all the beneficial properties of your precious essential oils.

If you are new to essential oils, there’s no better way to get to know them than through your diffuser. Try a few of my top favorite essential oil recipes for your diffuser below to get you started!

20 ESSENTIAL OIL RECIPES FOR YOUR DIFFUSER
General Guidelines:
• The following blends are meant to be used in a cold-air diffuser. These diffusers usually require a small amount of water to be added, along with the oils. 1-2 drops of oil per hour the diffuser runs.
• Follow the manufacturers directions on your diffuser.
• If you don’t have one of the oils called for in the recipe, you can still try the recipe without it.

Why I don't leave home without it!

Hope you survived Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday! Whew!! Now only 26 more days until Christmas! 😳  And you know what is right after that?.....New Year's Resolutions!

So with that being said- Let's get a jump start on our health, because we all wish we were a bit healthier,  am I right?...... The best part of it, it isn't a diet either!!👏 It is however, a lifestyle change for the better!

Did you know that the number 1 group of people that are addicted to prescription medication is women in their 30's? The number 2 group, is preschool aged children.

I love new technology and the ways in which modern medicine has helped many families, many times. As a Nurse, I was on that side for 18 years, so I do understand. However, I believe that God did not leave this earth without natural medicine either.  I find myself in the middle group - so for me, that is modern medicine when indicated, otherwise natural solutions and essential oils first.

Using essential oils to support your health is called aromatherapy and natural-minded, holistic people have been doing this for thousands of years. When essential oils enter the bloodstream, they have an effect on the whole body. They can enter the bloodstream through various application methods (diffusing, topical use, internal use) and circulate through the bloodstream and interact with tissues and cells throughout the body.

America is a little late to the game and is just now starting to become more aware of the many benefits that essential oils can bring to our bodies…especially these top 5.
If you want to learn even more about essential oils, then join my upcoming webinar!  (To be announced...) (Stay tuned!)

1) Lavender.
Lavender has been cherished for it’s unmistakable aroma and beneficial properties for thousands of years.
Primary Benefits:
Soothes occasional skin irritations.
Helps to reduce sad feelings because of it’s high amount of linalool.
Promotes a peaceful night’s sleep.
Helps to ease feelings of tension.
How to Use:
Add a few drops of Lavender to your pillow or feet at bedtime.
Keep a bottle of lavender on hand to soothe occasional skin irritations.
Add to a roll-on bottle and top with fractionated coconut oil and apply to wrists, neck and feet to help reduce anxious feelings.

2) Frankincense.
Renowned as one of the most prized and precious essential oils, Frankincense has extraordinary health benefits. It’s soothing and beautifying properties are used to rejuvenate skin and reduce the appearance of imperfections.
Primary Benefits:
Promotes healthy cellular function.
Promotes feelings of relaxation and helps to balance the mood.
Reduces the appearance of skin imperfections.
How to Use:
Apply to the bottoms of your feet or diffuse to promote feelings of relaxation and help to balance mood.
Take 1-2 drops in a veggie capsule to support healthy cellular function.
Add 1-2 drops to skin to reduce the appearance of skin imperfections.

3) Melaleuca.
More commonly known as “Tea Tree,” Melaleuca essential oil has over 92 different compounds and limitless applications.

For occasional skin irritations, apply 1-2 drops of melaleuca on the affected area.
Apply a few drops to a spray bottle and mix with water and spay on surfaces to protect against environment threats.
Combine 1–2 drops with your facial cleanser for added cleansing properties, or apply to skin after shaving.

4) Peppermint.
The peppermint plant is a hybrid of the watermint plant and spearmint and is, personally, one oil I could not live without.
Primary Benefits:
Promotes healthy respiratory function and clear breathing.
Promotes digestive health.
Repels bugs naturally.
How to Use:
Use a drop of Peppermint in water for a healthy, refreshing mouth wash.
Take 1-2 drops in a veggie capsule to help alleviate occasional stomach upset.
Place 1 drop in the palms of your hands and inhale for a mid-day pick-me-up.

5) Lemon.
The top-selling essential oil, Lemon has multiple benefits and uses. Lemon is a powerful cleansing agent that purifies the air and surfaces, and can be used as a non-toxic cleaner throughout the home.
Primary Benefits:
Cleanses and purifies the air and surfaces.
Naturally cleanses the body and aids in digestion.
Promotes a positive mood.
How to Use:
Add Lemon oil to a spray bottle and spray on surfaces, tables, sinks and countertops.

So step aside first aid kit, there is a new kid in town! These 5 single oils go with me in a travel pouch every where I go, I also have some of my favorite blends in it too, that I will highlight another time.

If you are ready to makeover your cabinet, then I highly recommend using dōTERRA essential oils. They are the only oils I use on my family (including my kiddos) and are 100% therapeutic-grade and have undergone 3rd party testing to maintain their highest purity and quality in the industry! I wouldn't encourage you to settle for anything less!

3 Key Ingredients For A Healthier Holiday!

It will soon be time for the weather to be changing again :( Usually with changes of the seasons, comes symptoms of seasonal discomfort. If you suffer from seasonal discomfort, you are one of many.

Runny nose, sinus congestion, watery eyes, sneezing, trouble breathing through your nose, sore throat and cough due to drainage are many of the symptoms people experience during the change of the seasons.

I have found a trio of essential oils that, when taken together once or twice per day, combat or completely wipe out these symptoms naturally and safe.

No side effects, dependency or chemicals.

Drop 2 drops of each Lemon, Lavender and Peppermint into an 8oz glass of water (not plastic) and drink down, or you may also put the drops in a vegetable capsule and swallow. Only certified pure essential oils should be used internally!

Besides taking as a trio for seasonal discomfort, these three essential oils also alleviate a variety of other issues and improve your overall quality of life.

Lemon Essential Oil

Gargle with 1-2 drops and water in the am if you wake with an irritated throat.
Add to water and drink throughout the day to help with natural and safe detox.
Add 10-15 drops to an 8oz glass spray bottle filled with water to use for a natural cleaning agent in the kitchen or bathrooms.
Use 1-2 drops to remove oil, gum, grease, spots or glue.
Add to olive oil for a non-toxic furniture polish.
Diffuse to fill your house with an uplifting, energizing aroma and to neutralize odors.

Lavender Essential Oil

Provides natural calming and easing of tension.
Supports healthy and natural sleep, apply under nose or bottom of feet before sleeping.
To calm and soothe occasional skin irritations and sensitive skin. Apply to sun-exposed skin.
Add 1-2 drops to your mascara bottle to condition your lashes and extends the use of the product.
Mix with epsom salts before adding to warm bath for relaxing experience.
Use with peppermint along with your shampoo for an invigorating scalp massage!

Peppermint Essential Oil

Relieves occasional stomach upset or indigestion.
Place behind ears for head discomfort.
Add to water for a refreshing drink.
Diffuse for increased focus and "pick me up". Also for easy breathing and to open up airways.
Use with lemon for a mouth rinse.
Helps relieve symptoms of motion sickness when traveling.
These are just a few of the many ways you can use these three essential oils. The benefits and uses are endless!

Here are a few recipes:

Carpet Stain Remover:

4 cups warm water
1/2 teaspoon Castile soap or dish soap
10 drops Lemon essential oil
Mix 2 cups warm water, soap, and essential oil. Soak a rag in the mixture, wring out, and gently blot the stain. Use a clean rag soaked in the remaining 2 cups warm water to remove the residue. Alternate the soap solution with the fresh water until the stain is gone. Remember to blot, to rub, to remove a carpet stain as rubbing will ruin the carpet fibers.

Hardwood Floor Cleaner:

1 gallon warm water
1/2 cup distilled white vinegar
3 drops of Lemon essential oil
Mix water, vinegar, and oil in a large bucket or container. Mop with a dry mop or by hand with microfiber cloths. Change solution as needed.

Fruit and Veggie Wash:

1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup water
5 drops Lemon essential oil

De-Stress Bath:

1 cup Epsom salts
1/2 cup baking soda
10 drops Lavender
Drop oil into dry mixture of salt and baking soda, stir. Sprinkle in your bathwater and soak until desired:)

Homemade Mints:

1 package gum paste (found with cake decorating supplies)
1/4 cup powdered sugar
6 drops Peppermint essential oil (add more for stronger flavor)
food coloring (optional)
plastic straw
Pull off an egg-sized section of gum paste and knead it until soft. Add essential oil and a tiny bit of food coloring.  Knead again, and roll out with a rolling pin. Using the end of the straw, punch out shapes and roll in powdered sugar. This reduces sticking. Dry for 48 hours. Place mints in a decorative tin with lid. Enjoy!

Oh, I almost forgot! You can add these oils in when you are cooking. Add to frosting, brownies, cake mix or bars. Add to your favorite hot tea or coffee. But remember, one drop goes a long ways!

The Fabulous TRIO

I know many of you are already taking advantage of these three oils and their many benefits!
But if you haven't, and you want these changes in your home, this trio is for you! Essential oil information can seem overwhelming and knowing what to use and when can seem hard to remember. That is why I suggest starting with this trio!
