Why I don't leave home without it!

Hope you survived Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday! Whew!! Now only 26 more days until Christmas! 😳  And you know what is right after that?.....New Year's Resolutions!

So with that being said- Let's get a jump start on our health, because we all wish we were a bit healthier,  am I right?...... The best part of it, it isn't a diet either!!👏 It is however, a lifestyle change for the better!

Did you know that the number 1 group of people that are addicted to prescription medication is women in their 30's? The number 2 group, is preschool aged children.

I love new technology and the ways in which modern medicine has helped many families, many times. As a Nurse, I was on that side for 18 years, so I do understand. However, I believe that God did not leave this earth without natural medicine either.  I find myself in the middle group - so for me, that is modern medicine when indicated, otherwise natural solutions and essential oils first.

Using essential oils to support your health is called aromatherapy and natural-minded, holistic people have been doing this for thousands of years. When essential oils enter the bloodstream, they have an effect on the whole body. They can enter the bloodstream through various application methods (diffusing, topical use, internal use) and circulate through the bloodstream and interact with tissues and cells throughout the body.

America is a little late to the game and is just now starting to become more aware of the many benefits that essential oils can bring to our bodies…especially these top 5.
If you want to learn even more about essential oils, then join my upcoming webinar!  (To be announced...) (Stay tuned!)

3 Key Ingredients For A Healthier Holiday!

It will soon be time for the weather to be changing again :( Usually with changes of the seasons, comes symptoms of seasonal discomfort. If you suffer from seasonal discomfort, you are one of many.

Runny nose, sinus congestion, watery eyes, sneezing, trouble breathing through your nose, sore throat and cough due to drainage are many of the symptoms people experience during the change of the seasons.

I have found a trio of essential oils that, when taken together once or twice per day, combat or completely wipe out these symptoms naturally and safe.

No side effects, dependency or chemicals.

Drop 2 drops of each Lemon, Lavender and Peppermint into an 8oz glass of water (not plastic) and drink down, or you may also put the drops in a vegetable capsule and swallow. Only certified pure essential oils should be used internally!

Besides taking as a trio for seasonal discomfort, these three essential oils also alleviate a variety of other issues and improve your overall quality of life.

Lemon Essential Oil

Gargle with 1-2 drops and water in the am if you wake with an irritated throat.
Add to water and drink throughout the day to help with natural and safe detox.
Add 10-15 drops to an 8oz glass spray bottle filled with water to use for a natural cleaning agent in the kitchen or bathrooms.
Use 1-2 drops to remove oil, gum, grease, spots or glue.
Add to olive oil for a non-toxic furniture polish.
Diffuse to fill your house with an uplifting, energizing aroma and to neutralize odors.

Lavender Essential Oil

Provides natural calming and easing of tension.
Supports healthy and natural sleep, apply under nose or bottom of feet before sleeping.
To calm and soothe occasional skin irritations and sensitive skin. Apply to sun-exposed skin.
Add 1-2 drops to your mascara bottle to condition your lashes and extends the use of the product.
Mix with epsom salts before adding to warm bath for relaxing experience.
Use with peppermint along with your shampoo for an invigorating scalp massage!

Peppermint Essential Oil

Relieves occasional stomach upset or indigestion.
Place behind ears for head discomfort.
Add to water for a refreshing drink.
Diffuse for increased focus and "pick me up". Also for easy breathing and to open up airways.
Use with lemon for a mouth rinse.
Helps relieve symptoms of motion sickness when traveling.
These are just a few of the many ways you can use these three essential oils. The benefits and uses are endless!

Here are a few recipes:

Carpet Stain Remover:

4 cups warm water
1/2 teaspoon Castile soap or dish soap
10 drops Lemon essential oil
Mix 2 cups warm water, soap, and essential oil. Soak a rag in the mixture, wring out, and gently blot the stain. Use a clean rag soaked in the remaining 2 cups warm water to remove the residue. Alternate the soap solution with the fresh water until the stain is gone. Remember to blot, to rub, to remove a carpet stain as rubbing will ruin the carpet fibers.

Hardwood Floor Cleaner:

1 gallon warm water
1/2 cup distilled white vinegar
3 drops of Lemon essential oil
Mix water, vinegar, and oil in a large bucket or container. Mop with a dry mop or by hand with microfiber cloths. Change solution as needed.

Fruit and Veggie Wash:

1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 cup water
5 drops Lemon essential oil

De-Stress Bath:

1 cup Epsom salts
1/2 cup baking soda
10 drops Lavender
Drop oil into dry mixture of salt and baking soda, stir. Sprinkle in your bathwater and soak until desired:)

Homemade Mints:

1 package gum paste (found with cake decorating supplies)
1/4 cup powdered sugar
6 drops Peppermint essential oil (add more for stronger flavor)
food coloring (optional)
plastic straw
Pull off an egg-sized section of gum paste and knead it until soft. Add essential oil and a tiny bit of food coloring.  Knead again, and roll out with a rolling pin. Using the end of the straw, punch out shapes and roll in powdered sugar. This reduces sticking. Dry for 48 hours. Place mints in a decorative tin with lid. Enjoy!

Oh, I almost forgot! You can add these oils in when you are cooking. Add to frosting, brownies, cake mix or bars. Add to your favorite hot tea or coffee. But remember, one drop goes a long ways!
