Bergamot is cold pressed from the rind of the bergamot fruit. I absolutely the smell of Bergamot because of its unique citrus aroma. To me, the smell is like mixing lemon and lime together! So uplifting and refreshing!
Common uses of Bergamot Essential Oil include:
- Diffuse for a sense of self confidence.
- Apply to skin while showering and inhale deeply to enjoy its calming aroma while experiencing its purifying skin benefits.
- Change regular tea to Earl Grey by adding a drop of Bergamot.
- Diffuse at home, work or in the classroom when stress levels or tension is high:)
- Add one to two drops to your next DIY skin care cleanser, soap or lotion.
- Apply to the feet before bedtime for a sense of calm and harmony.
- Frequently used in massage therapy for its calming benefits.
- Calming and soothing aroma.
Bergamot blends well with Lavender, Ylang Ylang and Patchouli.
Topical: Bergamot can be applied topically, either neat or with a carrier oil (I use fractionated coconut oil). You may want to avoid direct sunlight (up to 12 hrs.), on area you applied, to reduce any possible skin sensitivities.
Aromatic: Use aromatically in a diffuser.
Internal: You may also add a drop to your water or smoothie for a delicious and beneficial drink. Make sure you use certified pure Bergamot essential oil when taking internally.
